The Evangelical Church in Germany has a new leadership
Bishop Wolfgang Huber is the new Council Chairman
The Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) elected its highest governing body, the EKD Council, at the beginning of November. From this Council, the Bishop of Berlin, Wolfgang Huber (61), has been selected as new Council Chairman and successor to Prases Manfred Kock. The EKD Synod and the Conference of Churches, as representatives of the regional Churches, elected the Bishop of Thuringen, Christoph Kahler (59) as Huber’s deputy. This year’s central theme was “the Bible in cultural memory”. You will find reports, portraits and resolutions on the following pages, in the background and in the documentation.
